Layout
Baan Paa Talee Estate is arranged over four levels connected by stepped pathways that wind their way through lush gardens cascading down the hillside towards the sea.
From a grand gated entrance, steps descend to the villa’s upper level comprising an air-conditioned gym and stand-alone guest bedroom. On the top floor of a two-storey bedroom pavilion, you will find the first of two master suites.
Next, under the gaze of a serene Buddha sculpture, and arranged around a large water feature punctuated by a majestic frangipani tree, are the guest kitchen, dining room, open-air reception lounge (from where the spectacular sea panorama is first fully appreciated) an air-conditioned TV lounge and another guest room. At the far end on side of the living areas lies the second master suite and set slightly behind and below the first master, two connecting guest rooms.
The villa’s pool and ‘chill out’ zone are located one level below, as is the fifth guest bedroom and finally, further down, the two-bedroom Ocean Villa, a tree sala and a beach house.
Living Areas
INDOOR LIVING
Baan Paa Talee Estate offers a great range of indoor living spaces to suit every occasion. On level two of the villa is a chic glass-encased dining room where up to 20 guests can enjoy the chef’s sumptuous fare in air-conditioned comfort, or pull back the doors for semi-alfresco feasts. To the rear of the dining room is a large, well-equipped guest kitchen, with a staff kitchen behind. Opposite the dining room is a comfortable TV lounge.
On level three, alongside the pool, is the media room where super-size sofas, conveniently upholstered in waterproof Sunbrella fabric, are arranged in front of a large TV screen with surround-sound.
At the top of the villa grounds, in a stand-alone pavilion with glass on three sides for that ‘almost-outdoor-but-air-conditioned’ fitness experience, is Baan Paa Talee’s gym area, equipped with free weights and bench, a weight machine, cross trainer and LeMond exercise bike.
The upper floor of the Ocean Villa comprises one large room divided into kitchen, dining and living areas and fronted by a breezy balcony, making this a cosy self-contained unit.
OUTDOOR LIVING
There’s no shortage of alfresco living space at Baan Paa Talee Estate. Linking the dining room and TV lounge on the ‘top deck’ is a breezy sitting area, perfectly positioned for sunset spectaculars accompanied by a cocktail or two. On the floor below, adjacent to the pool is an open-air games room with comfortable seating, a pool table and a kitchen/bar area that’s bound to be a magnet for daytime fun in the sun. Then there’s the pool itself; 25 metres of refreshing bliss that melts into the horizon, with a jacuzzi area at one end and a barbecue dining area at the other.
To one side of the Ocean Villa, just above the ocean, is the ‘tree sala’ – a large circular timber deck furnished with sun loungers that doubles as a laid-back relaxation space and a romantic setting for wedding vows.
Bedroom
Each bedroom at Baan Paa Talee Estate is furnished with a netted king-size bed looking out towards the sea through floor-to-ceiling glass doors which can be opened up for a tropical living experience if desired. Rooms can be cooled with either air conditioning or ceiling fans. Warm, honey-gold teak features heavily in vaulted ceilings, dressing areas and flooring, and every room comes with a safety deposit box and a sound system with bluetooth connectivity
Bathrooms are sleek, spacious air-conditioned sanctuaries, finished in black slate – most with wide, sea-facing windows. All are ensuite, apart from one shared bathroom that is centrally positioned between two connecting guest bedrooms.
MASTER SUITE ONE
Commanding views of the rest of the villa and the Arabian Sea, this enormous open-plan suite combines living, sleeping, study and bathing areas into one stylish space fronted by floor-to-ceiling glass.
To one end is the bed and a neat alcove furnished with a desk and chair. In the centre, set in front of a range of fitted wardrobes, you will find a comfortable sitting area, and the bathroom lies at the far end with a black slate floor, bathtub, double vanity and shower cubicles. Golden teak features strongly in the vaulted ceiling, furnishings and floors.
MASTER SUITE TWO
The second master suite is accessed via an air-conditioned study from which a flight of steps leads down to one of the guest bedrooms. A wide sea-facing balcony wraps around the front of this suite, leading to a very private garden where a curved daybed lies under the shade of a frangipani tree screening an alfresco shower.
Back inside, below a vaulted ceiling, the bed is positioned for maximum views, with glass on three sides and a very generous dressing room behind. The bathroom features a tub-with-a-view and a super-size shower cubicle as well as a twin, back-to-back vanity area.
GUEST BEDROOMS THREE AND FOUR
Positioned on the ground floor below master suite one, these two connecting bedrooms are mirror images of each other, with a shared bathroom lying between them. In both rooms, the walls to the rear are lined with fitted teak shelving space and storage. Bedrooms three and four make an ideal family suite.
GUEST BEDROOM FIVE
Connected by an internal stairway to master suite two, and also accessed by a doorway from a pretty garden courtyard that lies next to the pool deck, this fifth guest bedroom is spacious and bright. Near the entrance is a comfortable daybed and beyond the king-size bed is a bathroom with sea-view tub and shower.
GUEST BEDROOM SIX
This long bedroom opens onto a desk and chair on one side and bathroom on the other before reaching the alcoved dressing area and bed, which is accented with regal silver and gold fabric. Also south facing, the views from this room offer a different perspective versus the rest of the villa.
GUEST BEDROOM SEVEN
At the top of the villa grounds next to the gym lies the seventh guest bedroom. With two king-size beds and a daybed that could sleep an additional child, it makes a great family suite. This room also features a compact kitchen/bar area with a fridge and sink. Views are over the coastline to the south of the villa and the orange-gold accents of the soft furnishings reflect the sun’s rays. The ensuite bathroom lies towards the rear.
OCEAN VILLA - GUEST BEDROOMS EIGHT AND NINE
Two identical guest bedrooms are tucked below the living and dining room on the ground floor of the secluded Ocean Villa. A balcony runs across the front of this private paradise and the sliding glass doors can be widely opened to create a truly tropical ambiance. To the rear of each room are ensuite bathrooms with frosted glass showers and WC cubicles on either side of a vanity area. Built into the teak bed headrests are neat shelving units fitted with reading lights.
